Hey it's Harshnoise

Harshnoise is a noise music label that was mostly active throughout the early 2000s. The label is no more, but the artists and tracks live on. This archive puts the whole catalog back in circulation, all at no cost.

Releases go up as the original discs are found and ripped, so the catalog grows over time. Every release comes as lossless FLAC with scans of the original artwork.

Listening needs no account at all. Downloads need a free account, which takes just your email. Each account can download from 5 releases a day. The limit isn't meant to hold anyone back. It just stops bots from emptying the archive and running up the hosting bill.

Hosting, file storage and the other running costs are paid out of pocket. If the archive is worth something to you, you can chip in through PayPal. Donations are entirely voluntary and don't unlock anything: the catalog is free for everyone either way.

Privacy

  • What we store: your email address, when you last signed in, and which releases and tracks you downloaded and when.
  • Why: to send sign-in links and to apply the daily download limit. Nothing else.
  • How long: download history is deleted automatically after 90 days; unused sign-in links after a day.
  • Cookies: one that keeps you signed in, one that protects forms from forgery, and a short-lived one for on-screen messages. No ad cookies.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics counts page views and sets its own cookies to tell repeat visits apart. Google receives your IP address and browser details. It never gets your email address or download history. Visitors in the EU, EEA and UK are asked first, and nothing is sent to Google until they allow it. Anyone can change their answer in ; the answer is kept in your browser, not in a cookie. Content blockers stop it too, and the site works the same either way.
  • Donations: handled entirely by PayPal. We never see your card or bank details, and nothing about a donation is stored in the site's database.
  • Sharing: we never sell or share your data. Emails are delivered through Amazon SES, and files are served from Cloudflare R2.
  • Deleting: delete your account from the account page at any time. It removes your email and download history immediately. No BS.
